Warranty and Return Policy

This Warranty and Return Policy outlines the terms and conditions between LP-Research Inc. (“LP-Research”, “we”, “us”) and the purchaser (“you”, “your”) regarding the purchase of LP-Research products (“Product” or “Products”).

Return Policy

Products may be returned within 30 calendar days of purchase for a refund, subject to a 30% restocking fee. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable and must be covered by you. Contact LP-Research at info@lp-research.com prior to shipping any returns to obtain authorization and return instructions.

Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) Policy

If a Product is Dead on Arrival (DOA)—meaning it fails to function due to hardware failure upon first use—it may be returned for a full refund or replacement within 30 calendar days of the invoice date. Contact info@lp-research.com to initiate a DOA claim.

Custom-made Products that are not part of LP-Research’s standard product lineup are non-returnable, except when DOA.

LP-Research technical support will evaluate DOA claims and offer one of the following:

1. Replacement: A replacement unit will be shipped at our expense, and LP-Research will coordinate the return of the DOA item.
2. Repair: If you choose repair, it will be at your expense and you waive your right to request a replacement.

If LP-Research finds the returned item is not DOA or has been misrepresented, a handling fee may be applied at our discretion.

Order Cancellation Policy

Once an order for a customized Product or a batch production has entered the manufacturing phase, it may no longer be cancelled, modified, or refunded. Customized Products are defined as items made to unique customer specifications or tailored configurations not part of LP-Research’s standard product offering. Batch production refers to any order involving large-volume manufacturing initiated upon customer request.

You acknowledge and agree that upon confirmation of production commencement, LP-Research incurs irreversible costs. Therefore, such orders become final and non-cancellable.

Limited Warranty

LP-Research warrants that the Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for 360 calendar days from the date of shipment (“Limited Warranty”).

Return Process

If you believe the Product does not meet the Limited Warranty, email support@lp-research.com to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions.

Returned Products must include the original packaging and all included items such as accessories, manuals, and documentation. Include a description of the issue. You are responsible for return shipping costs and any damage during transit. We recommend you:

1. Use a carrier with shipment tracking.
2. Insure the package or declare its full value to cover potential loss or damage.

Remedy

LP-Research’s sole obligation under this Limited Warranty is to repair, replace, or refund the Product, at our sole discretion. If a defect is confirmed, we will either:

1. Repair the Product using new or refurbished parts,
2. Replace it with a new or refurbished unit, or
3. Refund the purchase price to your original payment method.

Replaced items become the property of LP-Research. “Refurbished” means a product restored to original specifications. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, which may vary by jurisdiction.

Warranty Exclusions

The Limited Warranty does not cover:

1. Damage from accidents, misuse, abuse, fire, flooding, or other external causes;
2. Leaking batteries or liquid damage;
3. Service or modifications by unauthorized parties;
4. Use of incompatible or non-LP-Research accessories or parts;
5. Damage during return shipment; or
6. Tampering with serial numbers or identification labels.

The following products are excluded from warranty returns:

1. Electronic software downloads,
2. Upgrades to existing Products.

Warranty Disclaimer

Except as expressly stated in this policy, all Products and services are provided “as is.” LP-Research disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Where legally permitted, the duration of any implied warranties is limited to the duration of the Limited Warranty.

Limitation of Liability

LP-Research shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of use, business interruption, or loss of profits. Total liability is limited to the original purchase price of the Product. These limitations apply even if a remedy fails in its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or consequential damages, so these exclusions may not apply to you.

Governing Law

This Warranty and Return Policy is governed by the laws of Japan. All disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court, unless otherwise agreed in writing by LP-Research.

Partner Sales

These Terms of Service also apply to LP-Research products sold through our authorized distribution partner Xikaku Inc. (xikaku.com). By purchasing LP-Research products via Xikaku, You agree to be bound by the same warranty, return, and licensing terms outlined in this document, as if the purchase had been made directly from LP-Research.
